Treatment Applications
Our first line of defense in mosquito abatement is surveying standing water for mosquito larvae. We have Field Technicians that look for standing water and check for mosquito larvae. If larvae is found, the technician will add a larvicide treatment to water to kill mosquito larvae. The larvicide products we use are listed on our Safety Data Sheets. These products are mosquito larvae specific.
Scheduled Fogging Events
For Ground Fogging, DCMAD uses an Ultra-Low Volume (ULV) EPA-registered mosquito adulticide product when conducting ground fogging events. These events are scheduled when large amounts of adult mosquitoes are trapped in an area. These events are dependent on temperature and weather.
The products we use for Adulticiding ("ground fogging") are Duet and Zenivex. Information and the Safety Data Sheets describing the products we use can be found by selecting Safety Data Sheets from the menu above.
